National University of Battambang (NUBB) has partnered with The Asia Foundation in the Ponlok Chomnes Innovation Fund, provided by the Australian Embassy, to implement a development project called “Upgrading Regional Innovation System through the Collaboration between University, Provincial Authority, Relevant Ministerial Departments and Industries at the Provincial Level” to build an innovation ecosystem that links between agriculture, food processing, retailing, and tourism sectors in the North-West Cambodia. This project organized a training workshop on the topic of “Management and Technology Development” for enterprises in the northwestern part of Cambodia, which has just been implemented from March 17 to April 02, 2025. The training workshop on the management and technology development for enterprises offered 10 subjects, including sales and marketing, strategic planning, human resource management for technology development, financial management, firm capability building, integrating information technology strategy into business strategy, good manufacturing practice and packaging for noodle, meatballs and pickled vegetables, and good agricultural practice for growing the vegetables. The implementation of this training workshop helped to develop the firm capability of 70 SMEs in agriculture, food processing, retailing, restaurants and hotels to produce products and services with competitive advantage in the domestic and international markets. This project can strengthen the culture of cooperation between university, provincial authority, relevant ministerial departments, and industries to promote the joint research activities and organize the joint training programs to strengthen management and technological capabilities for local enterprises in the north-western region of Cambodia.
