On the morning of Monday, December 30, 2024, the Confucius Institute at the National University of Battambang organized a ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of its establishment. The event was presided over by His Excellency SOEUM Bunrith, Deputy Governor, representing His Excellency SOK Lou, Governor of Battambang Province, and His Excellency SOK Khorn, Rector of the National University of Battambang.
Over the past five years of operation, the Confucius Institute has expanded its training locations through collaboration with 24 high schools and private universities across Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, and Siem Reap provinces, providing Chinese language training to more than 10,000 learners.
In his keynote address, His Excellency SOEUM Bunrith emphasized the importance of language learning for communication and employment, urging students to strive in their studies, not only in Chinese but also in English and other languages. Additionally, His Excellency SOK Khorn, Rector of the National University of Battambang, presented a report on the progress of the training programs of the Confucius Institute to the assembly.
