The Confucius Institute of National University of Battambang Board of Directors Holds the 5th Annual Meeting

On the afternoon of Tuesday, April 30, 2024, the National University of Battambang and Guilin University of Electronic Technology jointly organized the board meeting of the Confucius Institute of the National University of Battambang chaired by H.E. SOK Khorn, Rector of NUBB and Prof. Tang Pingqiu, Secretary of the Communist Party Guilin University of Electronic Technology. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss and approve important documents, including the work progress report for 2023, the financial report for 2023, the action plan and budget for 2024, and other action plans. Currently, the institute has established Chinese language classes in Battambang, Banteaymeanchey, and Phnom Penh. Over four years, the institute has trained Chinese language courses for more than 6165 students at all levels and organized 160 cultural exchange programs. The institute has also integrated the Chinese language education program into the credit system of the National University of Battambang. Please be reminded that Battambang National University and Guilin University of Electronic Technology have jointly established the Confucius Institute of Battambang National University with a total of 9 board members, including: (1) H.E. Sok Khorn, Rector of NUBB and Co-President of the BoD of CINUBB; (2) Prof. Dr. Zhang Wentao, President of Guilin University of Electronic Technology (GUET) and Co-President of the BoD of CINUBB; (3) Assoc. Prof. Nie Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of GUET and Director of the Board; (4) Prof. Dr. Gao Lanying, Director of GUET’s Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, Member of the Board; (5) Assoc. Prof. Deng Yanzhen, Deputy Director of GUET’s Department of International Cooperation and Exchange, member of the Board; (6) Prof. Yi Yongzhong, Chinese Director of CINUBB and Executive Committee Member, (7) Dr. Sam Rany, Vice-Rector of NUBB and Cambodian Director of CINUBB, 8. Mr. Tep Neavea, Vice-Rector and Executive Committee Member, and (9) Mr. Nhean Voithna, Director of IFL and Executive Committee Member.
