On the afternoon of 25 November 2021, a consultative meeting between AGROECO Research team of the National University of Battambang (NUBB) and Tonle Sap Authority (TSA) was organized via Zoom on research project entitled “Preserving productivity and ecosystem function of Tonle Sap Lake in the context of global change” funded by the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) France, with the technical support from the Laboratory of Evolution and Biological Diversity (EDB) of the University Toulouse 3 in France. The meeting was presided over by H.E. Prof. Dr. LIM Puy, Vice-President of TSA, and Prof. Dr. Adèle Martial Gros, Country Director of IRD in Cambodia and researchers from EDB Lab. The meeting had two main objectives (1) to consult with TSA the research activities and results from the JEAI-AGROECO project to align the research findings and activities to the current environmental issues in the Tonle Sap Lake system and (2) to explore the collaborative possibilities with other ongoing research projects inside the lake in order to build up a comprehensive database platform and research programs for Tonle Sap Lake ecosystem contributing to the sustainability of Tonle Sap ecosystem services facing rapid global environmental change in the Mekong basin.
